Bethesda Outdoor Movie Series

The silver screen hits downtown Bethesda for five nights of blockbuster hits. Pop a squat on the corner of Norfolk and Auburn Avenues with blankets, some savory snacks and a bag of popcorn to catch celebrated classics and this season’s hottest blockbusters. Finally see that Academy Award winning film “Life of Pi” or fly “Back to the Future” with ‘80s flicks including the popular feature starring Michael J. Fox, or the 1987 hit “Princess Bride.” Each full-length feature for the 2013 season is family-friendly, so bring along the whole crew for an evening out. We won’t judge if you decide to come every night – it’s hard to pass up the chance to see some fabulous films that span all genres – Wednesday night’s flick is Alfred Hitchcock’s “Rear Window”, and who can forget Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games”? From July 23 to July 27, keep your blankets and some popcorn on hand for a week of outdoor adventure right at home. Pick up dinner or dessert from nearby shops like Bold Bite, Cornucopia, Victor’s Pizza and Pasta, and come early to snag a number of provided chairs for a prime spot in the heart of downtown Bethesda.
