Halloween: A Frightfully Great Time in Bethesda

Hayrides, costumes, trick-or-treating…it’s time for Halloween once again! Here in Bethesda and the greater D.C. area, locals and visitors alike are passionate about hosting great festivals, shows, and get-togethers in honor of October’s most famous holiday.

If you’re feeling ghoulish, here are three of our favorite events in and around Bethesda:

Arc Montgomery Halloween Gala

On Friday, October 27 from 6 to 10:30 PM, join The Arc Montgomery County at their signature gala. Taking place at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, the gala will feature both silent and live auctions, a cocktail party, live music, and much more! Proceeds go towards the Arc’s pursuit of building a world where people with disabilities can be appreciated and celebrated.

Silver Spring Zombie Walk

Walk with the fellow undead on Saturday, October 28 through downtown Silver Spring! Last year’s event featured a movie showing and afterparty at Denizens Brewing. Retailers will also be featuring zombie-themed specials. Information hasn’t been updated as of this writing, but keep an eye on the Facebook group and the official website from last year for updates as Halloween gets closer.

2017 Eye Spy Trains at Montgomery Parks

Beginning October 7 and ending October 29, a family-friendly Halloween celebration will take place every Saturday and Sunday at Montgomery Parks. Come see the Cabin John and Wheaton Miniature Train and Carousel decorated in a “Transylvania” theme, then take a spooky ride on the replicas of the steam powered 1863 C.P. Huntington. Tickets go on sale October 1st.
