Washington, DC Green Festival 2014 at the Convention Center
Washington, DC Green Festival
For the tenth year in a row, DC has gone green at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Over two days, from May 31 to June 1, 2014, festival goers can immerse themselves in environmentally-sound products and educational panels, all dedicated to a healthier more sustainable future for our planet. From food to fashion, the Green Fest encompasses a wide range of lifestyle topics and issues. Be sure to visit the Marketplace, which will have over 300 purveyors of fair trade, organic and eco-friendly goods like jewelry and home décor, cleaning products, clothes, gifts and foods.
Whether you're interested in learning more about conserving energy at home, or you want to know how to recognize non-GMO foods, there are so many interesting green exhibits and demos to attend. Learn how to cook vegan and vegetarian. Find out how to recycle responsibly. Bring the kids because there are fun family-friendly activities in store. Most exhibitors are local, but some travel to the Green Festival from all over the country.
The Convention Center is near Mt Vernon Square Metro station. Take the green or yellow Metro lines. If you drive, parking lots are located nearby. Cycling is encouraged, and there are BikeShare locations throughout the city. Visit http://www.capitalbikeshare.com/stations to find out where to pick up one.
