As we enter the last month of the year, the holiday season is in full swing. The D.C. region is one of the best places to be during the holidays, and Bethesda is no exception. Here are a few great attractions for those looking to grab the perfect gift or enjoy some festive entertainment in and around Bethesda:
Glen Echo Park Art Show
The colorful riverside park displays some of the region’s best pieces of art in fields like glass, painting, ceramics, jewelry, ornaments and more. Many of the works are on sale if you need a thoughtful gift for the art lover in your life. The show & sale takes place at the Popcorn and Stone Galleries in the park until January 8.
Brookside Gardens Holiday Lights
Over a million lights make up this stunning display of flowers, animals, and other classic symbols of holiday cheer. Enjoy a walk through the illuminated trees, fountains and bushes, then head into the Visitors Center for hot cocoa, musical performances and a model train showcase. The Garden of Lights is on display every night through January 1 except for Christmas & Christmas Eve.
Metropolitan Ballet Theater’s Presentation of The Nutcracker
2016 is the 28th year that the Metro Ballet Theater has performed one of the holiday season’s most famous musicals in Montgomery County. This year’s performances take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the weekends of December 2 and December 9 at the Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center in Rockville.
If you need a relaxing hotel for a stay in Bethesda during the holiday season, the American Inn of Bethesda is a top choice. With comfortable accommodations, proximity to D.C. and downtown Bethesda, and competitive rates, we are happy to be a warm home away from home for you during the holidays.
